Position: Full Professor (W2) in Communication and Media Studies at TU Chemnitz

The Institute for Media Research at the Faculty of Humanities is looking for applications for the following position as Full Professor at the next possible date:

Professor (W2) „Communication and Media Studies“ / „Kommunikations- und Medienwissenschaft“
The professor will represent the broad range of communication and media studies and collaborates with other sections of the Institute of Media Research both in research and teaching. Applicants should have a strong record of research with a focus on digital media, online communication, and processes of social and cultural mediatization employing qualitative empirical methods in the field of media analysis and social science. A high willingness to participate in transdisciplinary and interfaculty cooperation during research and teaching is expected.

Courses can be held in English or German language. Applicants should possess prior experience with applying for and procuring research funding.

Requirements for appointments as Full Professor are given in § 58 SächsHSFG. Applicants require a successfully completed habilitation or equivalent achievement as evidenced by an excellent record of research in relevant areas.
